Junky Yard
HEY how's everyone doing? Merry Christmas!
Christmas is gonna be weird here in Cali because theres gonna be no snow. Just a lot of fog lol.
I started off my week with interviews with the president and that went really well! I love president Talley! He is the nicest, most Christ like guy I've met. And his conversion story is pretty awesome. You can watch it on the facebook page "Come Unto Christ in Norcal". Our interview question was, How has a living apostle made a difference in your life? I was like hmmmmmmmmmmmm I don't know. But president Talley said, if you do preparation before Elder Soares comes, you will have a great experience. President wanted us to prepare by reading Elder Soares last 2 talks, and study what a living apostle is. Ands that's what I did. So, I get in the meeting with Elder Soares sitting there (the meeting with Elder Soares was before interviews with president) and all the sudden right as Elder Soares gets up to speak and says, "Good morning brothers and sisters" the spirit hit me like a bag of bricks. It was a feeling that testifyed to me that he is a living prophet and it was an amazing experience. So I ended up responding to My mission president with that experince I had and President Talley said, "I was praying for all the missionaries to have an experince just like that, so I applaud you for doing your preparation". Then he starts clapping and then I feel special.
I went on a exchange with Elder Bickel, Holy cow, the nicest guy I've ever met. And an awesome district leader. But he is speaking Hmong on the mission so I got to go to a Hmong lesson and it was really interesting. All the Hmong Elders get Hmong names, but you have to get named by someone that is Hmong. Elder Bickel said he was just pleaded for her to give me a Hmong name, she said No, no, and no and I was out of luck with no Hmong name, BRUH.
Update on Josephina, She believes in the Book of Mormon and loves going to church and now she is just waiting on an answer to know if she wants to get baptized! which is great news but we might have to hand her off to the spanish Elders because she loved going to the spanish branch.
We did a lot of service this week, but the funnest service is when we went and helped Tony move some stuff our of this junk yard. Not really a junk yard, just a really junky yard, HAHA. But anyways we took some pretty sick pics with all the junk.
Then we had this Awesome Christmas party with our ward and it was a great turn out because we got so many inactive members there it was so awesome! Then they came to church on sunday which was even better. And at the christmas party Elder Critchfield had to play the cello, he was not excited to play because he thinks he stinks but he actually did great! Something funny! That happened at the party was Our ward mission leader he was dishing the green beans and I was going back for seconds and my ward mission leader is bald, and as he's dishing me up I go, "Brother Skousen I found one of your hairs in my green beans" and Brother Skousen just chuckles and says, " if you found a hair it's certainly not mine". lol
It was a fun week another one coming up! Yeeeeee Hawwww!
