Bye Elder McBabe
Dad joke: Why is diarrhea hereditary?
Because it runs in the jeans
The reason why I'm telling this Dad Joke is because it fits really well with this week, I got the "runs in my jeans" because Elder McCabe is no longer my companion! (Sad face) He is going to Oroville, and I'm staying here in Chico. I love Elder McCabe! He is the absolute best! Even though he hated my terrible jokes that never make sense, he is still the best. Good luck to Elder McCabe! I will miss him. My new companion is Elder Strauss, and I won't meet him until Wednesday.
I have a request from whoever is reading this email. There's a lady that we are teaching named Phan. We haven't been able to teach her in a couple weeks because she is very sick and she doesn't think that she will make it through the week. Please pray for Phan!
Sorry guys, but this week was super lame and boring and nothing very exciting happend, so I'll share a little spiritual thought.
Someone that we are teaching had a question:
"If someone isn't being repentant and is not willing to change and keeps hurting my feelings, do I need to keep forgiving?
My heart wanted to say no, but the spirit wanted me to say yes, but I didn't want to give her the wrong or a vague answer, so we told her that we would study about it.
I was reading in 3 Nephi 12:44, it reads, "But behold I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who despitefully use you and persecute you."
In this scripture it's basically saying yes, you need to forgive them. But do you forgive them with anger? Heck no! Then how? WITH LOVE! Love your enemies, love others as Jesus would. Jesus wouldn't go up to someone and say, "Oh hey, I'm sorry, I guess, your fine or whatever, here's this terrible tasting treat I made for you to say everything is ok. Jesus would look you in the eyes and say, "I love you, and I care about you. I may not appreciate what you did, but no one is perfect so I forgive you." And then he would give you big hug.
So everyone that is reading this, I challenge you to forgive people like the good looking man with long hair and a great smile would. Strive to be like your Brother Jesus Christ, always.
I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ AMEN.
Please send me a message! I would love to hear from any of you! Tell me about what is happening in your life and what you are learning about in your scripture study.
Love all of you, have a good week!
-Elder Bishop
PS: Still no news on the visa or travel plans to Australia. Maybe sometime during this next trasfer I will be going. I do know that missionaries serving in Australia that were reassigned are being trasferred out to their original assignments in the middle of May, so maybe that is my golden window? Fingers crossed!
