Vegemite Do Be Pretty Gross Doe

Hello everyone! It's me again! Sorry I keep sending these late, I always procrastinate these until the very end of the day or sometimes later than that, but I always write them or else my mom would kill me!

This week was pretty normal, nothing too exciting, but there were a couple things that did happen.

First, I was called Saturday morning to give a talk on Sunday, the next day, and I was like... "Well, I guess." lol. I was really nervous to give this talk and I prepared a 12 min talk about missionary work and felt ok about it. But, I still felt like it was gonna be flop. And little did I know that there was going to be a ton of non-members there and I was like crap, a lot of words and the message I'm gonna give today is not gonna make sense to the non-members. Elder McCabe told me in the car on the way over, " Elder Bishop there is gonna be a lot of non members today at church, so make sure you talk in a way so they can understand" I was not excited because I was given a days notice, stayed up late, not knowing who was gonna be coming to sacrament meeting and so I was praying during the sacrament and I said in my prayer.  "Yo, Heavenly Father, I really suck at giving talks and I need your help on this one! I'm super nervous and I need the spirit's guidance and comfort! pleassseee help meee!" I get up there to talk and the spirit was there! I didn't look at my talk once, I was able to portray the message to where everyone could understand AND I went a few minutes over the time I thought I was gonna be speaking and it felt like I was up there for 5 min!! BOOM!

Afterwards, there is this sweet mom, and she came up to me and said,  "Thank you for your message, it really helped me as a mom.  Another mom said that I was a great public speaker(FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOORRREEVVVVERRRRR!) So many said thank you and were crying because of how strong the spirit was. Prayers are answered and the Lord loves his missionaries.

Something funny, I bought some Vegemite, a popular Australian spread for toast at World Market. There is this really cool family in our ward, the Matterns. They are the family that made me sing on my first visit if you remember that experience a few letters back.  I told them I would go buy some Vegemite so we would all try it.  So, I bring it over and everyone was like, "So you were being serious?!" and I was like,"Uh ya!" So, we get out the toast and we all try it and everyone just was about to throw up. haha! I didn't think it was too terrible, but everyone else was being super dramatic hahah. Good times, good times.

Have a great week guys, and have fun!
-Elder Bishop
