Transfers

Yo yo yo! Sorry guys, didn't get an email out last week, whoops forgot (not really) just didn't want to

So last week I got to go the temple with some other missionaries which was really good! Love going to temple and feeling how strong the spirit is there! It's a small temple but definitely one of my favorites! Later in the week we had a devotional in Firle that our mission was putting on and we invited a bunch of friends to come and none of them came which sucked but, the sister missionaries in Firle brought one of their Friends, Raymond, that moved to Australia from Nigeria and is an amazing basketball player. We met him there and it ends up he lives in our area! So we are teaching him now and played some basketball with him and the youth, it was really awesome! He enjoyed it a lot and we can't wait to meet with him again!

We had transfers... so sad to see Elder Gottfredson go, such a flipping stud. Lots of good memories with him, best of luck to him in his new area! This new transfer I'm still a Zone Leader and my new companion is Elder Montmeny! Which is awesome, he served with me in the Roseville California mission and now we are comps here in Aussie, pretty Flipping awesome. We get a long really well and he is such a stud as well. I'm excited to see what this transfer has instore for us and all the miracles that God is going to bless us with. The mission just recieved 13 more missionaries so there are about 82 missionaries now which is basically double when I got here lol.

Update on Mervyn and Tamara! We had a great lesson with them and we brought a member with us and it went great! We taught the Word of Wisdom because they are struggling with some word of wisdom issues and they said it's going to be really hard, but they are willing to do it because of all the blessings they will recieve! Really hoping they will be able to stop their bad habits and get baptized October 15th!

Love you all and have a great week!

Notes from Mom,
Sometimes Spencer leaves out some details that he tells us on the phone, so I wanted to add them here for records sake.  Since the mission has a few more missionaries they are starting to branch out in to the Bush areas of Australia.  There is a lot of open space in the bush that is filled with Aboriginal familles that live in huts.  They are very receptive to the gospel if you can get out there to teach them.  They are opening up a new part of the mission where they will send out groups of Elders to live in tents or yurts.  They are purchasing trucks and supplies for the missionaries to live for a week at a time in the Bush, and then travel back to a small town to buy provisions, shower, do laundry and then head back out to teach.  They will call a missionary to be the Branch President while they try to grow the church out in the Bush areas.  The Mission President was asking for missionaries to volumteer to live like this.  Spencer's companion that just got transferred, wants to do it!  He loves to camp.  There is another missionary that he knows that said he will extend his mission if the President will let him do it.  Spencer on the other hand was like.... That is a hard pass! lol. Looks like Scouts for Spencer was enough!  lol. But never fear Grandma, he's still an Eagle Scout!  lol  Spencer is happy and loves being a missionary.  We are so proud of him and love talking to him each week.  He is dreading the end of his service and hates to think that he's almost at his year mark.  He will hit it this week on the 20th.  Time flies when you're having fun!
