One More Transfer In Gulfview Heights!
Hello everyone! Here's the daily news from the mission...
Monday:
This P-Day we found out transfer news! I found out I’m staying in the area! I was happy, but not at the same time. The Gulfview Heights Ward is awesome and we have built up a good teaching pool as I have been here for 4 1/2 months. I have one more transfer to get some baptisms! Letsssss Goooooo! I’ll have 6 months in Gulfview Heights. Woop Woop! I'm staying with Elder Montmeny, which I'm really happy about because we get along really well and work really well together. We also get a lot of work done together. We are still zone leaders, leading these wonderful missionaries in the Moroni zone!
Tuesday:
This day was pretty normal, just grinding, finding, and baptizing, like always faaaaam! But we had an early morning lesson with Jack Li! He is so awesome! I flipping love this guy! He's hilarious and is really keen to learn and take things in. He is progressing really well and we are gonna try and put him on date for baptism next lesson! It was really funny, before our lesson we are waiting and it's like 7 AM, and just thinking If this guy flaked on us and surely he didn't, this is how the texts went back and forth.
Jack: Let's go
Us: Good morning! You're awake! Lol
Jack: Yeh
Trying to get out of the bed
The bed is like a magnet
I reckon what I will do is I will promise myself to watch one last video and get the hell out of bed lol
Us: OK see you soon
Jack: 11min left on the video
Us:
45 min later...
Us: See you in a couple min?
Jack: Yeh man
Just putting some meds on the face
Us: Cool beans
This guy is a Crack up
Wednesday:
This day was absolutely crazy! Yesterday we went to go contact this referral the sisters had contacted and they talked to him and was keen but they hadn't been able to get in contact with him since, so we went to his house yesterday, but he didn't answer so I felt like I should leave a restoration pamphlet in his letter box with our phone number on it. Amazingly we got a text today saying he wants to meet with us tonight, so we quickly start prepping his lesson and I had never met the guy before and I don't really know anything about him but I felt like we should put him on for a baptismal date. Then Elder Montmeny got inspiration that we should read 3 Nephi 9. This chapter is about a people that were really wicked so they got flipping burned but also a group of people that were trying to be righteous that wanted something more and Jesus Christ gave them an invitation to "come unto Him and be healed and I will give you eternal life." We shared this with Uzziah in the lesson and he said that this is exactly what he needed! (Thank you to the Holy Ghost!) He expressed he felt guilty for things he’d done but is trying to be righteous and needs help with it. So in the chapter it explains that you just need to repent and be baptized by fire. (by receiving the holy ghost) and he said, "Ok keen, when are we doing it?" Boom! So we set his date for November 27th! I’m so excited for him. He was sent from God! Like legit. Dead set brothers and Sisters, this bloke is getting dunked and receiving the Holy Ghost! He has quite the story!
Thursday: It was transfer day! So today was a lot of helping missionaries get to their new areas and just lots of logistics to figure out all the movements in our zone. It all went well and everyone got to their areas safely! We had another lesson with Uzziah which went really well! He's just a flipping beast! 100% prepared by the Lord!
Friday:
Had another lesson with Uzziah, went great!
Saturday: We had another lesson with Uzziah. It went pretty good and we got to go to the airport... never going back there for as long as it takes, that felt weird, but we went to the airport so we could pick up some Elder's Companions and get them back to their areas. This is the job of the Zone Leaders. It was work but not really the kind of missionary work I want to do. So, basically no missionary work got done that day because the airport took forever, which stinks because I dislike feeling unproductive. I forgot to take pictures at the airport (sorry, not sorry mom)
But the fun part was we were playing basketball with Raymond again! He is so fetching good! He can jump so fetching high, like literally, he always takes my rebounds! It’s really the only thing I'm good at in basketball. But that was really fun. We brought some YSA and there were some other non-members there as well. We are slowly building up a big group and hoping the members keep inviting their friends so then we don't even have to play most of the time. That way we can just talk to the people that are waiting to play. Basketball finding at its finest.
Sunday:
Pretty normal day, nothing too exciting, just the usual missionary life.
Stay tuned for another exciting email next week! Pray for our friends!
Love,
Elder Bishop
