Ngón Chân

Monday: We had a fun P-day with all the missionaries in our district.  We did an escape room. We bought the escape room from a game store locally and we set it up in one of the rooms in the chapel!  It was really fun and we really enjoyed doing it together.  We definitely want to do it again. It was a good way to spend Halloween! It was weird not seeing little kids going out trick or treating this Halloween because Australians don't really celebrate Halloween, but it's getting a little more popular every year.

Tuesday: We had exchanges with the Tea Tree Gully elders. We had a great exchange.  They are having a hard time finding new people to teach so Elder Marrett and I were really trying to focus on finding some people.  We prayed with sincere hearts, really trying to find these people and the spirit directed us to 2 people that day to teach. It was quite a miracle and I hope they can keep seeing miracles like that in their area.

On the same day in our area, my companion, Elder Montmeny and Elder Lambert had a lesson with Uzziah.  He's been struggling with some commandments and one has to do with some laws that he was breaking. In the lesson before this lesson we challenged him to pray to God to help him to know if it was wrong or not.  The Lord let him know that what he was doing was a sin and he felt really guilty for it and he stopped that day. In the lesson he said, I'm really trying to be a better person and to become more like the Savior and so I've decided to stop doing those things. Boom!  So, he is still on track to be baptized this month and we are really excited for him! We have seen him grow and he's been so happy and joyful because of the gospel.  It's so amazing to see what the spirit of the Lord can do to each individual here on Earth.

A cool miracle that happened last week. We were driving to a place to go knock some doors and we're driving and we get to a turn and to turn right it would have been a really long line to get to where we needed to go. We decided to take a longer route. While we were driving we got to a turn and we saw a young girl about 20 years old and she was carrying all these groceries and it was hard for her to carry all of them.  She kept dropping them and the spirit told us to turn around and ask to help her. She said yes to us putting the groceries in our car to carry them to her house for her. she was hesitant for help but we told her we wouldn't steal her groceries haha. So since we can't drive her in the car, she had to walk the rest of the way, but at least she didn't have to carry the groceries as well. When we got to the house to drop off the groceries, this Vietnamese family came to the door. We were talking to them and the girl that lives with them and we offered them a free English class because they just moved from Vietnam and know very little English. They said yes. We were able to set it up for them this week. More about this experience on Saturday....

Wednesday: We did a service and found a couple people, we will see how they progress.

Thursday: We found another person! This one seems promising. Her name is Donna, she just had her husband and mum die recently and she's really confused where they have gone and what has happened to them. We talked about the plan of salvation with her and she wants to learn more so we gave her a pamphlet and have a return appointment this week on Friday! We are gonna have the sisters go because she is single, but I reckon she will get dunked in the future.

Friday: Had interviews with President. What a jolly Tongan. The Tongan Santa Claus

Saturday: Continuing the miracle above. We held the English class and it went really well. We brought a returning member with us named Dzuy. He speaks Vietnamese so he helped a bunch. He helped us teach the class and I was like how the fetch am I gonna teach English to these people, but it ended up going well. The best part tho, I brought 2 Vietnamese Book of Mormons that we just happened to have in their language in our flat. We asked them if they wanted to learn about God. They admitted that they know nothing about God and who He is. So, we gave them the Book of Mormons and they were really keen to learn more because we focused it on how God can help us in our families. They said they're gonna read the Book of Mormon everyday! God is too good.

Sunday: Uzziah came to church! Yesssss. Finally. He liked it and brought his 2 little girls and the girls loved primary. It went really well. We are so excited for him to be baptized!

Stay tuned until next week!  Have a great week everyone!
