The Grind Is For Real

Como Han estado? I hope everyone has been fantastic and just reading the scriptures and praying everyday, you already know the drill. My 5th transfer is over! It was such a quick transfer here in Columbia, I'm staying with my companion elder stewart again which is dope because we are doing good, we have much work to do. So many latinos to be found, so much knocking to be had, not enough time to do it all. We definitely struggled to find people this transfer and to get them to church. But we have a lot of hope and motivation to keep on going and find those elect people. Honestly that's just what happens in life sometimes, we just gotta be patient with our struggles and choose to trust in the lord's timing. If you have anything in your life that is sucky right now, just know god loves you, he wants the best for you and he gives you these sorts of things to grow and trust him. 


Anyways we found this super dope guy named Nick the other day! He is from the Dominican Republic, and he has lived here for a while with his wife and a few kids. We taught him about the restoration of the gospel and church of Jesus Christ, and at the end we showed him the book of mormon. When we showed it to him he got all excited and he told us that he already has one. So he went to get his book of mormon from somewhere in his house and gave it to show us. We asked how he got it and he said that he had lived in NY for a while and he made a friend one time at lunch. This friend was a returned missionary from the DR as well. His friend showed him the book of mormon and gave it to him with his testimony on the inside of the first page. Me and elder stewart looked quickly at the testimony his friend had written and it dated back to 1996, pretty much 27 years ago. At this point me and elder stewart were in shock because we had just somehow found this old man after having a book of mormon for 27 years. God's timing is so cool sometimes haha. He told us he would read it, and we are gonna go back and teach him some more!! Experiences like that are just the kind of stuff that make a mission so cool. 


I love you guys, I hope you know that, and I hope you know god loves you. Enough that he sent his only son to suffer everything and die. If that doesn't show pure love I literally don't know what else you want from him. Please pray to god, he wants a strong relationship with you, and he wants to answer your questions and doubts. I love this gospel, I know that the book of mormon is true and it can change our lives if we let it! Have an amazing week everybody.
