Riverland Central Just Got Pooped On

Wow! What a week we had! It was awesome!

Best qoute of the week:

Elder Shepherd: Elder Bishop! If you scare me again, I'm going to kick you in the face!

Meanwhile, I am hiding behind a door getting ready to scare Elder Shepher for the 3rd time that day. Lets just say I scared the living day lights out of him! It was one of my all time best scares of the mission. ...Shep the Wep shed a tear, lol.

But, Holy Fetch! Elder Keller and I are literally sqeezing the juice out of Berri. We are working our booties off till they ache. We had a really good week. We found 4 people to teach and one of them wants to be baptized. We were able to get 5 member present lessons which is really good because we have an active branch of 11 people. We also manged to put 2 more people on date for baptism and of course another one in the coming days. So, we currently have 4 people on date for baptism! Nathan's baptism is this coming Saturday!! I've truly seen how hard work and following the spirit work together this transfer. It has been a fruitful transfer.

Let me tell you about our friend Courtney! The story is... we went to go drop off a Book of Mormon to someone from facebook and I went to drop it in the letter box. Elder Keller, my companion, was looking around and he saw this house across the street and really felt the spirit.  We had about 5 minutes until our member meal and he told me to look at the house.  I really felt the spirit too! So, we were like, we really got to knock that house! We go to knock the house and this tiny 4' 11" lady in about mid 20's answers the door. We start talking to her and she mentions she loves Jesus Christ because of how much joy He has brought her. She told us that she lived with a satanist for 5 years and felt so terrible and timid, but once she started having faith in Jesus Christ she felt so confident and so much love for the gospel. The only downside is that she was getting baptized into the Riverland Central Catholic church across the road. We asked her if we could come by tomorrow and she accepted and said she has always wanted to talk to missionaries like us. We go for our return appointment and we are teaching the restoration and we start teaching about priesthood authority, and that we need to be baptized with proper authority. She had never heard that before, but the faith that Courtney has is incredible! She said, "Whatever God wants me to do, I will do it! She said she will pray about it. Funny enough, her adopted mom is a member in the branch! Her mom felt prompted to take her out for dinner and they were talking about the church and baptism and Courtney didn't know what to choose. They were in the car and they pulled over to the side of the road and started praying together. Courtney started crying and knew she needed to attend church with us and to cancel her baptism at Riverland Central. Boom! The church is true and the Spirit came in clutch!  Unfortunaltely, just yesterday, she hurt her rib really bad so she is not well to meet but, she is still really wanting to meet with us and to come to church. She would be a great addition to the Branch because she has two kids who are primary age and she is young and she would be great at fulfilling a calling which is what the branch exactly needs. Elder Keller and I prayed to find a golden investigator all transfer and we have found her!

This week with the branch we went down to the temple! It was a lot of fun!
Elder Keller: IT WAS NUTTY! SOOOOO NUTTY!
everything is nutty to him, whatever that means...

Our Branch President is dope and rented a bus to take everyone in the Branch down to the temple. We had to wake up fetching early though! We woke up at 3:30 AM and left at 4:30 AM. But luckly I can fall asleep really easily and I zonked. We got to do endowments and initiatories. Hadn't done initiatory in a while. It was good to be reminded of the amazing things that come from initiatories. After the temple went out for lunch at Villies Cafe! It was really good, President McKay paid for us because once again, he's DOPE! I got 500 g Schnitty with gravy, it was delicious. I also got this dessert called a Bee Sting, its a honey comb flavored donut thing, thats the best way to explain it but it's fetching good! That trip took our day so it was nice to have a rest from our labors at the temple!

Have a good week everyone!

-Elder Bishop
